Las Vegas Couture Show celebrated Italian design

Made in Italy jewels designers won several prizes on the occasion of the international contest in Las Vegas, confirming the quality of Italian jewels.

Thousands of shining lights, luxury and craziness, a mini Eiffel tower, ostrich-feathers and enchanting castles; this is not wonderland, but the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Place of splendor, entertainment and excess, this American city has always attracted attention for its crazy nights, told by movies, and for emotions among sequins; but Las Vegas also hosts very interesting events: I’m not talking about Elvis Presley ‘s marriage, but I refer to the famous Couture Show and the Couture Design Awards, an international contest that rewards jewellery and watches designers from all over the world.

The Couture Show, held at the luxurious Wynn Resort of Las Vegas, is addressed to famous and talented designers and brands. The Couture Awards are awarded by a qualified and precise panel and the participants are divided according to several categories, such as Silver, Haute Couture, Gold, Innovation, Debuting, and more.

On the occasion of this edition, our attention has been attracted mainly by the success of Italian designers taking part in the event. Many of them won the first prize in several categories, and some took home praiseworthy silver medals.

We would like to cite some Italian successes talking about the awards received by Annamaria Cammilli, talented and original designer from Florence, who won the first prize in Debuting category and the second one in Gold category. Annamaria Cammilli makes jewels in gold and her slogan is: “Sounds&colours of my gold”. Sounds and colours captured by her flowers collection, made up of elegant and characteristic flower-jewels, or by the jewellery with coloured gems. A great competition for the made-in-Italy that leads in international debuting jewellery design.

Montegrappa won the first prize in Silver category and stands out thanks to its sophisticated and innovative precious objects and watches. Some of its collections are dedicated to famous people as Senna and Pelé, or to the most renowned superheroes. A made-in-Italy brand that has always attract interest at an international level, so much so that the actor Sylvester Stallone decided to become its official partner in 2010.

The success at Couture Show definitely confirms the value and quality of Italian jewellery that is created by skilled and innovative designers who develop their ideas to give life to works of art. So, we join the celebration supporting made-in-Italy design in jewellery sector and, quoting Elvis, we can say: “Viva Las Vegas!”
